Antique Crate Wagon

Antique Wagon

A while ago I found a few old wagons and one of them was pretty far gone, too far gone actually.  I was just going to let it rest in the junk pile, but I loved the look of the wheels so I decided that, at the very least, I needed to repurpose the wheel set and save their hard-earned patina.

In my junk stash I had some old crates and this one was perfect because it was a little bigger than the tradition apple crates we seem to find in North Carolina.

The crate and four wheels sat in our barn as summer turned to fall…to winter.  The little wheels and crate waited in line…waited to become something again.

The one thing my hubby and I knew is that the crate needed a stencil and I had seen the perfect one…but of course I never pulled the trigger on buying it.

Fast forward to Christmas and my early Christmas present from my hubby…two new stencils from Funky Junk Interiors Old Sign Stencils

Anyone that knows my booth’s knows that I am not much of a painter.  My booth’s are filled with rustic, industrial treasures; however, I love working with stencils.  There is something about adding a small touch…making something your own.

I had not even noticed that the five fell off until I started to edit my pictures.  At first I felt the need to get the number back on and snap more pictures…I decided it seemed fitting to leave it off.

This rusty old crate wagon, which was days away from its imminent demise, is now headed onto the farm with hopes of being filled with spring flowers!

P.S

Thank-you to all that travel to our retail locations.

For those that are too far away or would like to know when I have new items headed to my booth and barn event you can find us on Facebook and Instagram.

We also have an Etsy Shop.

If you’re looking for something please let me know.  I’m trying to decided what to list so any feedback would be greatly appreciated 🙂

Kindly,

Jane
