Simple DIY – Coffee Roasters Stencil

For the love of stencils!

When you go junkin as much as we do, you gather all kinds of treasures.

Often these treasures find their way into my antique booth’s right away…others wait in line.  Sometimes you walk by a piece that for some reason seems to speak to you…but you don’t always know why.

This rustic piece of wood was once one half of an old book press.

Even though the book press was broken, the look of the old wood was unmistakably charming.

My mind quickly went to work with thoughts of the many ways I could repurpose it.  My initial thought… a top to an old table…but with the unique sides, it felt more like a tray.

Since it was freezing out I opted for a smaller indoor project and some baking.

I poured myself a cup of coffee…and got to work.

The house smelled good as I jumped between snapping pictures, peanut butter cookies and pumpkin muffins!

When I’m not working you’ll find me in the kitchen trying to reinvent our favorite comfort

food into somewhat healthier versions of themselves.

Serving tray or wall art?

The beauty is that you get to decide.

Our home has no decorating rules.  Instead, it is filled with everything that speaks to me.

Do you follow the rules or do you like to color outside the lines?

One thing I know is that you will love these stencils from

Funky Junk Interiors’ Old Sign Stencils.

What I have learned along my way is that a DIY does not always need to be complicated.

Some of the simplest ideas are often the most sought after.

Share a simple DIY that you love.

Have a great week, kindly

  • I would be all over the place…. no lines for me.
I love the thought of you sitting in your home, wrapped up in a blanket amongst the things you love.

  • Lines? Rules? Is there such a thing? Hope not, or I’m in big trouble. LOVE this tray/art. And thanks for inspiring me once again! I’ve got to get some of Donna’s stencils on some old wood I’ve got. It’s sitting around waiting for a new life.

  • What is the best way to use this stencil? Newbie here. Trace it and then paint? I’m
Used to using vinyl for stencils so I can paint over it but I’m afraid of bleed if I used this stencil that way. The graphic is awesome!

    • Hi Ann, i always paint over mine. i use a really really dry brush and tap up and down.

before i apply the paint to the stencil i tap it onto a piece of cardboard or even the top of my hand. this way i make sure the brush is dry and it won’t bleed.

I hope you give them a try 🙂
