When I was creating the Christmas picture for my last blog post, I wanted to create a genuine holiday feel.
Not exactly easy to do in October in North Carolina amidst 80-degree temperatures.
In an attempt to harness my inner Mrs.Claus, I decided to play Christmas carols on the truck’s stereo system …and, yes, I believe my neighbors think I’m odd.
However, losing myself in the festive songs of Bing Crosby and Burl Ives I had a revelation.
It came to me when listening to Julie Andrews famous song, “My Favorite Things.”
It was a simple idea…I love the Sound of Music and I love junk.
So why not start unloading my “junk loads” and featuring four of my favorite things.
I want to take you along for the ride in hopes of learning what you’re looking for…
and
I’m in the beginning stages of researching shipping costs to hopefully start using my online shop.
I would feature smaller items at times that I would then list in my shop.
This would allow you to have a closer look at an item you may be interested in purchasing.
I welcome any ideas on what you would like to see me list for sale 🙂
So on to my favorite four from this truckload.
If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram you have likely seen our truck filled to the brim.
Some laugh as I pull into the grocery store on the way home and to some they see a big pile of dusty, rusty junk.
I see a unique treasure…one that has a story.
All this pile of junk needs is a little love and someone with an eye that sees past its demise.
If you look in the back of the truck and you’ll see this old coffee mill covered in dust.
No one even noticed the dirty wheel, but I would bet they’d notice it now.
I haven’t even used anything to bring out the colors…all it took was giving it a bath 😉
It would be a stunning wall hanger over someone’s coffee bar.
This adorable little windmill is only 3 feet tall, yet has bared the same tough weather as its big brothers.
If you know me…you know I adore the “smalls.”
Old wooden pulley wheels powered the mills that made North Carolina the furniture capital of the country.
I love this “Farmer’s Market” sign for our kitchen.
Sold as an authentic sign from a local farmer’s market …if it is not real it is a brilliant reproduction, cracks and all!
Regardless I love it 🙂
Let me know what kind of junk you’re on the hunt for.
Enjoy your week
Kindly, xo
Jane

Hi Kim, thank you for visiting 🙂 I would agree! It is a unique piece
Neat stuff and I really like that last sign. An online shop sounds like fun, I tried to do that at one time but those shipping costs were a kicker. Hope you can swing it.
Hi Carole, I agree with you about the shipping costs! I’ve always had my shop, but have never used it for that reason! I start with some smaller items 🙂

Jane,
The old coffee mill sign is a real treasure. Yes, I can see it hanging above someone’s coffee bar. I
I sometimes wonder what people in the future will think of all the plastic/resin materials we leave behind.
Judith
you know Judith I kinda wonder too…Lol! I have not parted with the old coffee mill yet…I keep wondering if I should do a coffee bar when we renovate the kitchen 😉
Hi Jane, Rusty Metal is one of my favorite things. We used to have an Antique Shop, and on our Shopping trips that is one on the things I looked for. I especially like the Sign and The Coffee Mill Wheel. I hope you don’t mind I did Grab the Button and Put it on My Site for you.
Hi Donna, do you miss your Antique Shop? You and I would be good shopping partners sharing our love of rusty metal and anything unique. Thank you for grabbing the button and big thank you for visiting, xo
Happy Holidays 🙂
