Vintage Christmas

Happy Holidays

Christmas Farmhouse Kitchen

Hello friends,

I have been lost in the magic of photography this holiday season.

DIY Rustic Christmas Tree

In the past, I was busy with DIY’s creating something unique for my shop.

Like this little tree created out of reclaimed wood.

Antique Snow Flake Tin

This year I focused on trying to capture Christmas magic in a photo.

Using vintage pieces like this old Snow Flake Axle Grease tin.

and my favorite pair of skis!

As the year slowly comes to a close I find myself reflecting on what I would like to see more of in my business and my personal life.

This leaves me with my “word” for 2018…Organic.

Poinsettia

You may be thinking about food…what does the word organic and business have in common.

For me, it is the natural unfolding of my business.

To do my work and send it out into the world with no thought of anything in return.

Rustic Christmas Barn

It is hard not to have it all figured out…it goes against anyone who feels one must have a business plan.

While I do have a plan…I will not over think my decisions…having faith in following my heart.

Having time to create and build my small business while leaving plenty of time for my family and all the things that capture my heart.

I would love for you to share what you want to see more of for yourself and what your word is for 2018.

Wishing you and your family a wonderful Holiday

Kindly, xo

Jane

  • As usual Jane, your words and art speaks to my very soul. I have given your question much thought today. I didn’t realize until today that synonyms for organic are in fact, harmonious, coherent and get this … organized! It’s all the elements of our lives coming together organically as a whole, it all fits. I would say this year, 2017, felt truly UNorganized but now, at the start of this new year, I see it was all very fitting. I don’t think either of us were at all lost in our journey because, as you said in following your heart, I have faith that we were simply on our journey heading exactly to where we were supposed to be! So, my word for 2018 is Faith, faith that we are headed on the right path and that in the end, it will all fit. Thank you so much for this wonderful post and I wish you all the best in the new year!

  • I love coming over here – your simplicity warms my heart. The images are fantastic, it’s like each one tells a story. Organic is a great word to apply to your business… It’s how I’ve been growing mine and it works because it welcomes peace of mind, prosperity and growth that inspires positive activity and thinking… For me 2018 takes me to moving forward and continuing to live like no one else. My faith continues to grow and guide my heart which keeps me real. Merry Christmas Jane – you’re an inspiration!

  • Good morning Jane 🙂 This is a different perspective on the word organic, and it suits this stage in your life so perfectly….Strength is my word in my personal life. As far as my business, I will use the word trust…Trusting that my little biz, will unfold in a way that is right for me, and my family. Thank you for sharing your journey. It is a beautiful thing to watch my friend. xo

  • Hello, Jane! I stumbled across the Junkin Sisters Tribe on Facebook and I fell head over heels in love with this beautiful gathering of women who “get me” and at 62, it was about time! I’m in Lincolnton NC, and my stepdaughter lives in Concord, so I hope to visit your amazing business, and bring her along.
I thought a lot about my word since I first saw the question and I believe mine is RESILIENCE. After having a particularly difficult few years (in a row), and at this point in my life, I’ve learned that without the ability to bounce back, get up, brush off and keep going, life stops. Dreams die, and personal growth comes to a halt. Thanks for sharing your beautiful dream with us because you never know who you have inspired to get back up and keep going!
